Waiting On God

I was listening to a song by, Andrae Crouch entitled, “Until Jesus Comes”. There a line that says,” I will wait on him, I won’t get discouraged. I gonna’ wait until Jesus comes...”

This line really jumped out at me because the message of the song is about Jesus coming back for his church, but I heard something that has affected me all of my adult life, and that is waiting for Jesus to appear at every juncture of my life. He gave me the confidence and insight in my spirit that he would appear at every instance where I needed him. The key for me is that he would be there when I needed him.

Also it was given to me that there would be times of waiting for him to secure all things for me-that is- that he would bring all things into order for me. The warning is that if I proceeded without him, I would go at my own risk. My life of favor from God has been waiting on him, to bring all things to various milestones in my life. There have been times that the wait was successful and the times were characterized by victory. And then there were the times of defeat when I went about to do my own determination. Remember King Saul went into battle after he made the sacrifice that the priests were suppose to make. God was not with him because he did not wait on God.

The word and action of waiting is a very powerful one in my life. I have to wait on the Lord’s appearing in a majority of instances in my life. I read a message by Pastor Steve Moffett that added to the concerning the appearing of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He stated that when Christ shall appear we shall be like him. This also represents his appearing in our lives.

” I will wait on him, I won’t get discouraged. I gonna’ wait until Jesus comes...”

Eyes have not seen, neither have ears heard all of the good things that God has prepared.

But he’s saving the very best for last, for last.

So for me walking in faith is waiting on the things that he promised me in prayer.

I encourage you to wait on him for the promises of his word, being in prayerful anticipation of them. He will bring it to pass. At his appearing we shall see his as he is, “victorious” and we shall be like him.
